Zweigle's Hot Dog Sauce

"I" before "E" except after "C". Nope. I haven't read the list of ingredients yet but this just tastes like a classic New York pushcart onion sauce.

Tony's Newburgh Lunch Texas Sauce

This one has no ingredient list (or expiration date) on the jar. So for my comments I'm just going on what I think.

This one is kind of gelatinous in texture. Could that be beans mashed up? Is it unflavored gelatin? I don't totally like the mouth feel of this one.

I assume there's meat in there. Lots of tomato, but not a lot of meat. Kind of soupy. Tastes like tomato and black pepper to me. Doesn't really have any other defining flavors. It's not even salty.

Not the worst I've had, but also not the best. It's not something I'm interested in buying again.

Because there's no date on the jar, I have to wonder what the turnaround is on their sauces.

Frank's Sassy Meat Sauce

Sassy describes something as lively or bold. I would say that's accurate, however, the only thing bold I really taste is cloves. It's got a hotter heat than a bunch of the other sauces I've tasted (my nose is running), but I think there's way too much clove flavor. Cloves are one of those spices you need to be careful when scaling up a recipe. Good sauce, I just wish it was more balanced in it's flavor.

Ingredients: ground beef, water, cayenne pepper, salt, chili powder, sodium acid sulfate, paprika, black pepper, cinnamon, ground cloves.

Chef James' Bourbon Meat Sauce

Delicious. This would be one of the sauces I re-order. Spicy, not super spicy, and a good sweetness to it. It does leave some heat lingering on you tongue the more you eat. Well balanced.. no one flavor in the sauce overpowers the other. Just the right amount of ketchupy goodness, the cayenne isn't too vinegary, everything just works together well. Some sauces only taste good when warmed up, this one tastes good cold also. I know from experience. I was lazy once and just poured some in a container to try on potato chips.

Ingredients: water, ground beef, ketchup (tomato concentrate from red ripe tomatoes, distilled vinegar, cane sugar, salt, onion powder, spice, natural flavoring), cayenne pepper sauce (aged cayenne red peppers, vinegar, salt, garlic), molasses, mustard (distilled vinegar, mustard seed, salt, turmeric, spices), sodium acid sulfate, cayenne pepper, chili powder, beef base (oven roasted beef with natural juices, salt, hydrolyzed soy protein, onion powder, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate), sugar, paprika, cumin, granulated garlic, granulated onion, black pepper, bourbon.

Flour City Empanadas Meat Hot Sauce

I previously mentioned a sauce (I forget which one) that had some unique ingredients, but I think this one takes the title. Some of the ingredients I find unique would be banana peppers, teriyaki, soda and sesame seeds. The only sauce on the market with caffeine? Some of the flavors inside remind me of Don's Original, but less funky.. in fact well balanced. Hats off to whoever scaled this recipe up for production... not sure if it was Flour City or Craft Cannery. It's spicy, but not overly, just the right amount of salt as well. The slight heat builds as you eat it. It's got some tang going on from vinegar and banana peppers. My friend says he can really taste banana peppers. I don't think I'd recognize them unless I read the ingredients. I had this on mini burgers earlier today for lunch and now I'm having it on fries. If having the sauce twice in the same day says anything, it says I like it a lot.

Ingredients: ground beef, onion, banana pepper, water, carbonated soft drink (carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, sugar, phosphoric acid, caffeine, citric acid & natural flavor), soybean oil, sesame seed, cayenne pepper sauce (aged red cayenne pepper, distilled vinegar, water, salt & garlic powder), apple cider vinegar, salt, sugar, teriyaki sauce (soy sauce(water, soybeans, wheat, salt), wine, sugar, water, salt, vinegar, sodium benzoate, onion powder, natural flavors, succinic acid, garlic powder), garlic, gluten-free soy sauce(water, soybeans, salt, alcohol), cayenne pepper, chili powder (chili pepper, cumin, oregano, salt, garlic powder, spices), beef base (oven roasted beef with natural juices, salt, hydrolyzed soy protein, maltodextrin, sugar, coin oil, natural flavoring, whey powder, rice flour, onion powder, disodium inosinate & disodium guanylate), cumin, coriander, sodium acid sulfate.

Highly recommend this company to order all your Rochester, New York Garbage Plate Meat Hot Sauces. They ship quick, packed well, and at a reasonable price. They carry every brand available and actively seek out new brands to put in their store. At the time of writing they have 16 different sauces in their store and more coming. In addition to meat hot sauce (my blog topic) they also carry oils, vinegars, spices, hot sauce, honey, and other condiments.
